Chalet

The ground level of the chalet includes a large dining hall, featuring a gas fireplace and seating to comfortably seat 250 people. Recently, there was an addition to the lower level that can serve as another meeting room.

The second floor includes the smaller of our two chapel/auditoriums, which seats around 100 people and can be used year-round. It is the original Hill River Tabernacle building, which was moved onto the SHLBC grounds in 1969.

Also on second floor are 11 rooms containing two sets of bunk beds and 6 rooms with a full or queen size bed (bedding not provided in second floor rooms). Bathrooms with showers are centrally located.

The third floor features 6 rooms with a full or queen size bed (bedding provided) and two bathrooms with showers. It also has a fireside room, which provides a relaxed setting for movies, devotions, or casual business meetings.

Pavilion

Located at the heart of the SHLBC grounds, the Pavilion provides a great location for small groups to hold meetings, parties, or other social gatherings. The Pavilion features log siding, and wall-to-wall windows provide views of every end of the campground. The extra-large patio door provides a breath-taking view of Sand Hill Lake. The largest room of the pavilion is a rustic fireside room, featuring rough-cut lumber walls and a wood-burning fireplace. A food bar area in the fireside room provides a great serving location for foods, and also connects to a kitchenette via the side door and serving window. The kitchenette features a double sink, countertop, and cabinets for minimal food preparation.

Sand Hill Lake

Sand Hill Lake serves as a scenic focal point for the camp all year round. It provides hours of fun whether making an ice sculpture, a sand castle, relaxing by the water, or broomball on the ice. During the summer, the lake is the place to be to beat the heat. The camp provides entertaining water fun with services such as "The Blob", tubing, canoeing, paddleboating, and pontoon rides. In the evening it is hard to beat the sunsets over the lake as the our Creator does His handiwork.

Sports and Recreational Facilities

There is something for everyone to enjoy in the sports facilities that SHLBC has to offer. There is an outdoor basketball court that is ideal for everything from "shooting around" to competitive tournaments. A sand pit volleyball court is featured across the road from the lake and guest house to provide hours of fun for people of all ages. Children of all ages enjoy the four tetherball areas. The nine hole disc golf is a big hit whether you are just a beginer or an expert. There is also a softball/soccer field accessible for those who love to play or for those who just want to watch.

Located between the lake and the chalet, SHLBC offers recreational services for the young and the young at heart. Fort Barry is located at the center of a little play area for kids. This play area includes swings, a slide and sea-saws. Nearby are tetherball courts, and a nine-hole disc golf course is available as well. The camp offers services such as hayrides and bonfires upon request.
