Don Van Klompenburg came to manage SHLBC in the summer of 2003 after serving as the senior pastor at Full Gospel Assembly in Canby, MN, for 13 years. He has a passion to see the camp grow as a light ministering to others. Don has been married to his wife Karen for over 30 years and has five children: Jessica, Krista, Elisa, Jeremy and Joshua. Karen enjoys being a helpmate for her husband and serves as head cook at the camp for many of its activities. Jessica, her husband Mark, and their daughter Anna live in Cottage Grove, MN. Jessica teaches music at a home school co-op, leads women's ministry, and helps lead worship at Inver Hills Church, where her husband also serves as the music pastor. Krista also lives in Cottage Grove with her husband Tito and childern Alex, Andru, and Antoni, and Alicia. Krista is a stay at home mom also home schools the kids, while Tito is a software engineer. Elisa and her husband Brent live in Bemidji. Elisa is a cook at the Beltrami County Jail and Brent is an assistant produce manager at a large local grocery store in Bemidji. Both also help out at SHLBC whenever they can. Jeremy is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy at USD in Vermillion, SD Joshua finished up schooling at SMSU in Marshall, junior majoring in Speech Communications: Radio & TV. He is currently residing in Marshall, MN. |
